Narwik Merino Wool Blanket
Size:
80x100 cm
Weight:
330 g
Composition:
100 % merino wool
Production:
Poland
Care/washing:
We recommend gentle hand washing and rinsing in lukewarm water at max. 30 degrees. Use liquids designed exclusively for washing wool, e.g. pink Perwoll. Dry flat and avoid drying through high temperatures such as a radiator or the sun. Merino wool does not stain like other fibres. It has self-cleaning scales that make it antibacterial and does not absorb odours, so it is usually sufficient to air such a blanket. After washing, the blanket should be shaped by stretching it slightly.
Certificates:
All materials used in Poofi products are certified to Oeko Tex Standard 100 Class 1 (approved for direct contact with the skin of the newborn). High quality Italian yarn.
The Poofi Narwik merino wool blanket is a blanket made of 100 % fine New Zealand merino wool. It owes its name to its unique weave, which emphasises its "Scandinavian" character. The range of colours we have prepared for this weave makes it the most desirable and versatile blanket in our range.
Blankets made from 100 % merino wool are extremely popular. It is hardly surprising - they are extremely pleasant to touch, do not bite and have anti-allergenic properties. Merino wool is extremely special: New Zealand sheep live in extreme conditions, where temperatures reach plus 30 degrees in summer and 20 degrees in winter. Their wonderful wool allows them to survive in all conditions - in summer it cools, in winter it warms the body very well. It will perform perfectly all year round. The wool yarn in Poofi blankets provides very good thermoregulatory properties - they keep you warm and at the same time let the air through. A nap under such a blanket is a real pleasure and a peaceful sleep.
The blanket is suitable from the first days of life. Its large size, will also work well as a wrap. It is lightweight, great for naps at home, on a walk or in the car.
When you pick it up, you will be surprised by its softness, temperature, lightness and quality of workmanship. It's a blanket that's sure to please every mum - it's a dream gift for your little one.
We can pack the Narvik merino wool blanket in a cotton bag, which you will find in the recommended products.

What is the process of making Poofi blankets?
First the need for color and the idea for the weave is born. We usually look for inspiration among sweater weaves on various knitting forums. We choose a few of them and modify them according to our own visions.
The idea is passed on to the knitting room, where we make tests of the weaves. We test the weave first. First the weaves are translated into the programming language of the knitting machine. During the tests the weave is adjusted and corrected in such a way that the blanket does not twist and holds its form. Sometimes it turns out that it is necessary to change the weave or even the whole concept.
On the prepared samples, washing, drying and blanket tests are done, so that we can be sure that the products will cope with the daily rituals in the homes of our customers.
At the same time, color work is underway. To a dedicated laboratory we provide color samples, for this purpose and better precision in communication we use a professional color tester PANTONE.
After about 2-4 weeks we receive the dyed strands of our yarn and assess whether the resulting colors are consistent with our expectations. If everything matches, we dye the whole, large batch of yarn, which is then sent to the knitting machine. When the blankets come off the knitting machines, they are sent to an eco-friendly laundry that stabilizes the size of the blanket, shrinks any loose eyelets, and uses safe laundry detergents to finish the entire production process. The final step is sewing on the tags, steaming, folding and packing into cotton bags.
A lot of work - but the result delights us every time. We love our blankets and we know that we will never get tired of designing them.
